Pretoria - Scores of people participated in the #100MenMarch to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to pledge their support for an end to violence against women and children on Tuesday.

Men and women from various government departments, churches, sports teams and community organisations

The march was organised by government and various civil society organisations also aimed to galvanise men to take up President Cyril Ramaphosa's "Thuma Mina (Send Me)" campaign call by committing to ending violence and abuse in their homes and communities.

In addition, the #100MenMarch also forms part of the centenary celebrations for former President Nelson Mandela and struggle stalwart Albertina Sisulu.

According to a statement from the Government Communications Information Systems, a similar march will take place in Pietermaritzburg this Friday.
