Johannesburg - Acting President David Mabuza on Wednesday declared a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category 2 for late anti-apartheid struggle stalwart and business icon Dr Thandi Cynthia Ndlovu, the Presidency said.
The Presidency said the provincial funeral was in honour of her role and loyal service to the people of South Africa.
"A Special Official Provincial Funeral Category 2 entails elements of police ceremonial honours in line with the Presidency’s State, Official and Provincial Official Funeral Policy, for distinguished persons specifically designated by the President of the Republic of South Africa," the Presidency said.
Businesswoman and Motheo Construction founder Ndlovu died in hospital on August 24, following a head-on car crash in the North West earlier in the day.
Mabuza conveyed his condolences to the Ndlovu family, friends, and business associates on their loss.
