Manhunt launched after Cash Crusaders robbery

Johannesburg - Gauteng police on Friday said a manhunt had been launched after a Cash Crusaders was robbed by a group of men in Roodepoort. 

The store, which is located at the Princess Crossing Shopping Centre on Ondekkers road, was robbed on Friday afternoon by around five men reportedly driving a white Toyota.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo explained how the incident unfolded. 

"It is alleged that the suspects stormed into the shop and took a number of cellphones and watches." 

"No shots were fired during the robbery," Masondo said. 

The suspects reportedly sped off in the direction of Westgate. 

Masondo added that no arrests had been made and confirmed that a manhunt had been launched for the group of five.

"Police appeal to anyone who might have information that can assist the police in the investigation to please call the crime stop number," Masondo said.
