Mystery surrounds deadly Joburg shooting

Johannesburg - A man was shot and killed, and two other passengers were injured on Tuesday afternoon in a shooting in Johannesburg north, Gauteng police said.

"It is alleged that a 46-year-old man was driving in a silver BMW with two other passengers when two suspects driving in a white Mercedes Benz started shooting at the car," spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele said.

The shooting occurred on the corners of Malibongwe drive and President Fouche drive, in Olivedale.

Makhubele said the motive of the killing was unknown. 

Police were investigating two cases of attempted murder and one case of murder. He said the police were appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
