One killed, one critically injured in Joburg car crash

Johannesburg - A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed and two other people were injured, one critically, when two cars collided on the N14 in Diepsloot in Johannesburg on Saturday night, paramedics said.

At about 7.30pm, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man trapped in the car. He was declared dead by another emergency service on the scene, ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said on Sunday.

Another man, believed to be in his 30s, was in a critical condition and was airlifted to a nearby hospital by the ER24 and One Plan medical helicopter.

A woman, also believed to be in her 30s, sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by another emergency service on the scene.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, Siddall said.
