Johannesburg - City of Tshwane technicians are trying to restore power to certain parts of Eersterust, west of Pretoria, the municipality said on Wednesday.

“The city's technical team managed to repair one feeder cable after three feeder cable faults were detected between the Waltloo and Eersterust Substations yesterday (Tuesday),” spokesman Selby Bokaba said in a statement.

“The team will continue to work throughout the day to fix the remaining two cables.”

Rolling power cuts were implemented.

“This revolving shutdown will occur on a four-hourly basis and is anticipated to be ongoing for the rest of the day. Residents are thus informed that certain streets will be on and off during the day until the cables are fixed.”
