Johannesburg - Some Johannesburg roads were closed to traffic on Sunday morning due to a road race in Sandton, metro police said.
“A road race is currently taking place in Sandton. It started at Mushroom Park at the corner of Pretoria road and Rivonia road,” said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
He said some intersections had been blocked off since 6am.
Rivonia road would be closed to traffic between Maude Street and West Street until the race finished around 11am.
“Motorists can use Katherine Street as an alternative route,” Minnaar said.
