Pretoria - Three men aged between 28 and 36 have been arrested for robbing a McDonald's, the Tshwane West South African Police Service cluster said on Monday.

Police spokesperson, Constable Tumisang Moloto said the trio allegedly committed a business robbery at the McDonald's food outlet along Church Street in Pretoria West late on Friday, minutes before midnight.

"The men had allegedly entered the food outlet and held the staff and customers at gun point. In the processes an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Cellphones and bank cards are also some of the items which were taken before they fled the scene," said Moloto.

"The Tshwane West Cluster's Trio Task Team launched a manhunt for the suspects. The first suspect was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning. Shortly after that, the police followed up information which led to the arrest of two other suspects in Diepsloot [Johannesburg] on Saturday afternoon."

Moloto said the suspects will appear in court soon.
