PRETORIA - African National Congress (ANC) councillors walked out of the Tshwane Council chambers on Thursday, vowing to join the Economic Freedom Fighters in a court bid to force Speaker Rachel Mathebe to allow a motion of no confidence against embattled Mayor Solly Msimanga.

As ANC members walked out, Mathebe announced that the motion brought by the ANC's leader in Council Mapiti Matsena remains on the agenda.

Earlier, members of the EFF angrily walked out of chambers, threatening to approach courts, after Mathebe dismissed a motion of no confidence against Msimanga.

Earlier, Mathebe had ruled that the motion of no confidence brought by the EFF did not comply with the rules.

Msimanga, a member of the Democratic Alliance (DA) has incurred the wrath of the EFF and the ANC who has accused him of presiding over corruption and maladministration.
