Pertoria – "Not in my name, forward with women and down with women abuse," are some of the slogans being chanted at the men's march from Church Square in the heart of Pretoria. Hundreds of people, including bikers and Mini Cooper drivers are gathered at protest the rising tide of violence against women.

"We men are taking a stand today. Women must know that they can count on us are taking a stand today. Women must know that they can count on us ," said one of the organisers Kholofelo Masha. He said many things happen in the society but everyone is quiet, so they decided to step up as men.

Masha said the purpose of the march was to show women that there were still men women could count on.

The march to Union Buildings is led by a barefoot woman dressed in a white and carrying an old suitcase. The woman is said to represent all women who were ever abused and suffered under the cruelty of men.
