Durban - The body of a man was found near the uMngeni River mouth on Sunday.

According to National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesman Craig Lambinon an NSRI Durban duty crew was activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority after a report from the fishing ski-boat, Game Fish, of a body floating off-shore of the river.

The NSRI, accompanied by police search and rescue divers, located the body and brought it ashore. An inquest docket has been opened.

* The search continues for Brenda Scriven who was swept away during the floods in Durban North last month.

Nqobile Gwala, police spokeswoman, confirmed the 62-year-old had not been found and police were still searching for her body.

Scriven, of Sunningdale, was in her car when she was swept away by the floods.
