Durban - Almost a week after he went missing, 10-year-old Njabulo Mankayi’s body has been found.

Njabulo’s body was pulled from the waters of an area called Grunter’s Gulley, in the Durban harbour, on Monday morning. His family were believed to be at the scene.

Njabulo and his best friend, Luyanda Msomi, disappeared on Tuesday.

The Grade 3 pair was last seen boarding a bus to go home, after school. A frantic search was launched for the boys, who were close friends.

On Saturday, police recovered Luyanda’s body from dense bush in Montclair, south Durban and on Sunday, police searched a canal near the M7 for Njabulo.

At least two people have been arrested in connection with the boys’ murders. One of the suspects, a woman, was expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning in connection with case.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the suspects would be charged with kidnapping and murder.
