Four arrested for car theft

Four men have been arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and stolen vehicles in Ozwathini, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.

Col Jay Naicker said the police, following up information on stolen cars, arrested the men between Sunday night and Monday morning. They were intercepted on their way to Ballito.

They were found in possession of a 9mm magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition. The Mazda Sting they were in was reported stolen in Mandeni during September.

At the Island area of Ozwathini a 31-year-old man was arrested for being in unlawful possession of an R-5 rifle with three rounds of ammunition, and a home-made shotgun. An Audi A4 reported stolen in Ballito a week ago was found in his yard, along with a Nissan 1400 bakkie and motorcycles. - Sapa
