Labour issues brought 50 protesters to the Jozini city centre on Wednesday morning.
Police said in response to The Mercury’s queries that the group had been blocking the entrance to the CBD with stones from 6am. They also shared details of the protest via the Twitter account.

“They were complaining about labour issues. No damages were reported and no arrests have been made. The road is now clear and our public order policing are still monitoring the situation.”

Police said that they had been demanding employment by the municipality and officers had been called in to monitor the situation.
