Johannesburg - Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini on Sunday warned his followers about devil worshippers and their “evil tricks”.
He warned the residents of Mkhanyakude, in northern KwaZulu-Natal, about Satanism, which he said had spread across the country, according to notes taken by KwaZulu-Natal co-operative governance department spokesperson Mandla Mkhize.
Zwelithini was speaking at the installation ceremony of iNkosi Thokozani Mbusowesizwe Gumede, at Sqalakatha, in Mkhanyakude.
He encouraged prayer and culture to fight the evil spirits which drove people to hostile behaviour.
“Our forefathers never knew Jesus, but had cultural beliefs and teachings that were very close to his. I am where I am because of your prayers,” he said. - Sapa
