Johannesburg - A security guard believed to be in his 30s has been shot dead in Grey Street in Durban, said Rescue Care which attended to the incident on Wednesday.
"Paramedics arrived on the scene around 12 pm to find SA Police Service members in attendance. A security guard had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was assessed by paramedics however there was nothing more they could do for the man and he was declared deceased on the scene," said Rescue Care Operations Director, Garrith Jamieson.
"At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown."
Jamieson said police were on the scene and were investigating the matter. No arrests were reported.
