Johannesburg - Thirteen people were injured when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the Loop and Boshoff Road intersection in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on the scene at around 6am and found the taxi and car in the middle of the intersection.
"The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicles and were found walking around on the scene. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that twelve from the taxi had sustained minor injuries while the driver from the light motor vehicle had sustained moderate injuries," Meiring said.
"The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to various provincial hospitals for further treatment."
He said the cause of the accident was unknown and would be investigated by local authorities who were on the scene.
