July 18, 2008: Johan and Riekie Lotter are murdered at their Thames Avenue home in Westville.

 

July 19, 2008: The siblings give statements admitting to their involvement in the murders.

 

October 24, 2011: Westville detective Warrant Officer Justice Duma, who attended the crime scene on July 20, 2008, says he knew the Lotter family because Nicolette and Hardus laid complaints with the police about two alleged robberies “by two unknown men”, during which threats had been made against their parents that “their days are numbered”.

 

October 26, 2011: District surgeon Diagasen Pillay reveals the findings of the post-mortems.

 

November 7, 2011: Naidoo changes his plea to guilty.

 

November 9, 2011: Pastor Leon van Assenderp testifies that the trio were possessed by evil forces when they committed the murders.

 

March 6, 2012: Court hears that Hardus holds both Nicolette and Naidoo responsible for his predicament.

 

March 8, 2012: Clinical psychologist Professor Lourens Schlebusch testifies for defence on emotional state of siblings.
