Durban - A woman was killed when a heavy-goods truck crashed into the side of her vehicle near Stanger, KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said on Tuesday.

Her male passenger was seriously wounded during the accident, at the R102 Compensation, Shakas Head intersection around 9pm on Monday night, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.

He was trapped in the wreckage. The 28-year-old woman died on the scene. The man was stabilised and taken to Stanger Provincial Hospital. - Sapa
