It is almost a month since two arms caches were found at the KwaZulu-Natal legislature in Ulundi, but there is no news yet on where they came from or what they were doing there .
KwaZulu-Natal authorities said on Monday that they were still awaiting reports on the investigations of the caches.
The two caches were discovered in early July.
The first was discovered when a staff member stumbled on a parcel in a disused filing room.
The parcel contained eight improvised pipe bombs, a British M-36 hand grenade and a five-litre tin of gunpowder. The second was discovered almost a week later at the complex and included one pipe bomb, four shotgun cleaning rods, four magazines for pistols of various calibres and two 9mm pouches.
A mass police investigation was launched into the matter and a special task team was appointed by KwaZulu-Natal Premier S'bu Ndebele.
The two-man team of Wilson Magadla, former head of investigations for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), and Professor Paulos Zulu of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, was charged with compiling a report for Ndebele.
They were given a 14-day deadline.
"The premier has not received a report yet," said Jeff Cele, spokesperson for the premier.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Bala Naidoo said police had not found any new evidence.
