The co-accused in the murder of Nellie Shabalala, wife of Ladysmith Black Mambazo leader Joseph Shabalala, has been sentenced to life imprisonment, SABC news reported.

Delivering judgment on Wednesday, Durban high court judge Brian Galgut said Mboneni Mdunge had not been truthful and had given conflicting evidence.

Earlier the court acquitted the main accused, Nkosinathi Shabalala, the 40-year-old son of Joseph Shabalala, of the murder of his stepmother.
