Thohoyandou, Limpopo - The murder case against two men accused of killing an off-duty police officer was postponed in the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court on Monday, the Hawks said.

The trial was postponed to March 12 for bail application, said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

Mashwana Zwanga, 21, and Mbodi Khuliso, 25, allegedly stabbed and robbed Constable Stanley Mokonyane on Saturday in Thohoyandou.

“Constable Mokonyane of public order policing in Modimolle, who was deployed to assist in maintaining peace and stability at Malamulele, had just finished a rendezvous with two sex workers next to a well-known hotel in Thohoyandou when two men allegedly attacked him,” Mulaudzi said then.

The two allegedly stabbed him twice in the chest, and took his cellphone and wallet before fleeing the scene on foot.
