Helicopter crash kills two in Limpopo

Johannesburg - Two people died after a helicopter crashed and burst into flames in Blouberg on Tuesday, Limpopo police said.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Otto said the helicopter was ferrying three people when it experienced mechanical failure and crashed into a pole.

“The helicopter was being used to install antennas in the Blouberg mountains when it experienced mechanical difficulties, it crashed, and burst into flames,” said Otto.

“One person was seriously injured and taken to hospital.”

Police are investigating the crash, Otto said.
