Johannesburg - A teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-year-old pupil on the way from school near Tzaneen, Limpopo police said on Monday.
''It is alleged that the victim was travelling in the suspect's motor vehicle coming from school to home on Friday October 13. On the way, the suspect stopped at a certain shop to purchase something. He then came back and drove but along the way he stopped and raped the victim inside the motor vehicle before taking her home,'' said spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
The 51-year-old teacher was arrested over the weekend after the incident was reported to the police. He expected to appear in the Ritavi Magistrate's Court on a charge of rape.
