Johannesburg - Three people died after two vehicles collided with a truck along the R524 between Makhado and Thohoyandou on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.
"Two vehicles - Isuzu bakkie and a Mazda sedan - were travelling towards the same direction on the two-way R524 road. They slammed against each other and ended up on the other lane, where the vehicles collided with an on-coming truck. A husband and wife in the Mazda were certified dead at the scene. The other passenger in the bakkie passed away on the way to the hospital," said spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
Four people travelling in the truck and the driver of the Isuzu bakkie suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The police are on the scene to investigate the crash.
