"The Avanza, believed to be travelling from KwaZulu-Natal to Gauteng using the R23, collided with the bakkie and a result, both vehicles caught fire," he said.

The accident claimed the lives of 10 people, including a toddler, and left two others, the driver of the bakkie and a passenger in the Avanza, injured.
