Nelspruit – A woman died after two BMW cars collided on the R40 near Banket Avenue in Nelspruit, ER24 reported on Wednesday.
Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson, said that shortly before 8pm on Tuesday paramedics and local fire fighters arrived at the accident scene.
“Paramedics found two BMWs standing a few metres apart from each other,” said Vermaak.
“A woman, believed to be in her forties, was found trapped in her vehicle with fatal injuries. Unfortunately, there was nothing that paramedics could do and she was declared dead on the scene.”
A 26-year-old man and a 14-year-old survived the crash and were found walking around on the accident scene. Both sustained minor injuries and were later transported to Mediclinic Nelspruit for further treatment.
The exact cause of the collision was not yet known. Local authorities were investigating.
