eMalahleni - Amcu president Joseph Mathunjwa on Thursday told workers that the struggle for a better life continues.

“We cant rest in our struggle for a better life of workers when bosses pocket millions,” he told workers at a May Day rally in eMalahleni.

He said people had still not obtained the fruits of their votes in 1994.

“Ninety-four was the time for those who went to exile to eat, but hopefully this year will be time for us who didn't go to exile to enjoy the wealth of our country.”

Mathunjwa said the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union was the only union in the country that could fight for the rights of workers as it was not affiliated to any political party.

“There is no union that can address workers' demands while lying in the same bed with the ruling party. If it's in bed with the ruling party, it's in bed with the biggest employer.”

He said Amcu would never associate itself with a party nor campaign for one. - Sapa
