Rustenburg - The murder case against the newly appointed Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) councillor Napoleon Webster and 13 other men was transferred to the North West High Court on Tuesday.
They appeared briefly in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, facing a charge of murder.
Lindokhuhle Mdabe, for Webster, applied for his bail conditions to be amended. He wanted the court to allow Webster to report at the Marikana police station instead of the Meadowlands police station.
In terms of his bail conditions, the North West High Court ordered that he must report at the Meadowland police station on Fridays between 6am and 6pm and he must reside at his Meadowlands home until his case was finalised.
Mdabe told the court that his client circumstance has changed and he was now expected to be in Rustenburg because of his duties as a councillor in the Rustenburg local municipality.
He requested the court to amend the high court order, so that Webster could report at the Marikana police station instead of the Meadowlands police station.
"Already he reports at the Marikana police station on Monday and Friday on a separate charge. May he be allowed to report in Marikana [police station] as now he is travelling between Rustenburg and Meadowlands," Mdabe requested the court.
His bail conditions was changed to allow him to report at the Marikana police station on Monday and Fridays between 6am and 6pm.
The case was postponed to October 18, for a pre-trail conference at the North West High Court in Mahikeng.
The State alleges that Aubrey Seitsang, Sibonile Sobopha, Mdlondozi Fundiwo, Herbert Baqhesi, Webster, William Nyanyane, Aphindile Pungone, Samson Gqwetani, Gift Luveli, Nkululeko Msithwa, Nkosindiphile Nziyose, Luvo Soyizwaphi, Sivuyile Qasha and Mzolisi Mbulana hacked Sabata Petros Chale to death in Marikana West on December 8, 2016. They allegedly drank his blood after hacking him.
Seitsang, Sobopha, Fundiwo, Baqhesi and Nyanyane were remanded in custody.
Webster was released on R3,000 bail and Pungone was granted R2,000 bail the others were released on a R5,000 bail.
Webster said they were ready for the trial.
"We are ready for the trial even it could be next week," he said.
