Johannesburg - The Molefe Makinta Highway in Hebron was barricaded with rocks and tyres on Friday morning, North West police said.
“We suspect that the highway was barricaded overnight, there are no protests or people gathering at this time,” said spokesman Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone.
Motorists were being directed by traffic police to use alternative routes, he said.
On Thursday, residents barricaded Erasmus and Hebron roads with burning tyres, stones and tree branches.
They were apparently unhappy with the feedback received on Wednesday from Madibeng local municipality acting mayor Matshidiso Mangoathe. - Sapa
