Johannesburg - A woman was killed when the car she was travelling overturned on the R500 outside Carletonville, paramedics said on Saturday.

ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said the woman was driving on the R500 on about 15 kilometers outside Carletonville on Saturday at 8pm.

Banks said the car lost control, rolled several times and the woman was ejected from the vehicle.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the woman lying in the road near to where the accident took place. They examined her and found she had sustained very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene,” he said.

The woman believed to be in her early fifties, was driving from Krugersdorp and heading towards Carletonville when the incident took place.
