Seasoned broadcaster Soli Philander has been fired from 567 Cape Talk radio after being found guilty in a disciplinary hearing this week.
Colleen Louw, 567 Cape Talk station manager, said Philander was taken off air last week pending a disciplinary hearing which was held on Tuesday.
"The verdict of the hearing was only passed on Friday and he was found guilty of the charges brought against him. I am however, unable to give the details about the actual charges against Philander."
Insiders said Philander walked out one day last week, an hour before his talk show was due to start, following a disagreement with management. "There's been ongoing tension between Soli and management... He had been unhappy for a while over the way he had been treated," said one source.
