Cape Town -

Nurses across the country wished former president Nelson Mandela a speedy recovery as he celebrated his 95th birthday in hospital on Thursday.

“We wish him more strength to recover and be with his family soon,” said Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA spokesman Sibongiseni Delihlazo.

“This is one more milestone that speaks volumes about the Mandelas impact to the democratic world order, as we dedicate 67 minutes of our time to giving back to the needy.”

Every year on Mandela's birthday, people around the world spend 67 minutes of their time doing charitable work - one minute for every year of Mandela’s public service to the country. - Sapa
