The 50 most eligible women in South Africa have been announced - and one of them is a man! Idols presenter Colin Moss is ranked with SABC Africa presenter Michelle Makori, Isidingo's Hlubi Mboya and Big Brother's Margaret van der Westhuizen as one of FHM's 50 Hottest Dates in the magazine's list of the country's most desirable partners.
FHM evaluated some of South Africa's most high-profile singles and scored them according to an eligibility scale that indicated whether they had the qualities that would make them a hot date.
Candidates were rated on six criteria including wealth, intelligence, sportiness, looks, high spiritedness and a predilection to party.
According to FHM's 50 Hottest Dates, Idols finalist Nazneen makes the grade for being fun and good-looking, former model turned art gallery owner Lisa King scores highly for brains and parties and champion showjumper Elizabeth Charleston rates for looks and sporting prowess.
Ability to party seems to be the most important trait of a hot date with more than 56 percent of the ladies listed considered hot party girls, including FHM's Sexiest Woman in SA 2003, Megan McKenzie, Song vir Katryn star Teresa Bernadie and Channel O presenter, Grace.
Only 28 percent of FHM's 50 Hottest Dates were chosen because of their intelligence and sparkling wit, including former Miss SA, Heather Hamilton, 5FM DJ Koula, and SA 2003 Triathlete of the Year, Kate Roberts.
Least important criteria proved to be money with only 8 percent of FHM's 50 Hottest Dates chosen for their financial assets.
Those wealthy women include Marc Shuttleworth's companion Khanyi Dhlomo, consumer journalist Isabel Jones and actress Justine Waddell.
Commenting on the selection, FHM editor Brendan Cooper said that the magazine had defined eligible in the loosest sense as meaning "anywhere between very single and married to a guy who we don't think deserves her".
However, all the women featured had the right combination of attitude, looks and intelligence to ensure a great night out.
