Three news apppointments for defence

Johannesburg - The Department of Defence has filled three new positions, it said on Wednesday.

Major-General Jeremia Mduduzi Nyembe was appointed Chief of Defence Intelligence, the department said in a statement.

“General Nyembe replaces Lieutenant-General Abel Mxolosi Shilubane, who retired in 2012,” said spokesman Siphiwe Dlamini.

Lieutenant-General Vejaynand Indurjith Ramlakan would be the new Chief of Corporate Staff Services.

Major General Aubrey Phegelelo Sedibe would be Surgeon-General.

Nyembe and Sedibe would also be promoted to Lieutenant-Generals.

The appointments take effect on April 1. - Sapa
