Leanne Manas, the co-presenter of Morning Live on SABC2, was robbed by four armed men at her home in Northcliff, Johannesburg, at the weekend on arrival from work.

The robbery comes just a year after the Houghton home of her co-presenter Vuyo Mbuli was robbed and his father-in-law and two domestic workers attacked.

Police spokesperson Sefako Xaba said Manas had entered her home just before 6pm, when a silver Toyota Corolla followed her into the driveway. The four robbers each pulled out a 9mm pistol and ordered her out of her car.

They took her into her house, where they tied her up with a necktie, believed to belong to one of the robbers, and then ransacked the house for valuables, Xaba said.

They stole her laptop computer, cellphone, electrical appliances, clothing and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in their car.

A shocked Manas then managed to untie herself and locked herself in the bathroom. Her parents got suspicious when they tried to phone her and her phone was constantly engaged. They decided to drive to her house where they discovered her hiding in her bathroom, Xaba said. They reported the robbery. Police are investigating. - Staff Reporter
