Firefighters hurt in Jonkershoek blaze

Cape Town - Four firefighters sustained minor to moderate injuries while battling a fire at the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve late on Tuesday night, paramedics reported.

“It is understood the firefighters sustained soft tissue injuries when they tried to escape the overwhelming fire,” ER24 said in a statement.

Paramedics arrived on scene and assessed the firefighters. They were treated and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
