CAPE TOWN - South African National Parks (SANParks) has confirmed the arrests of four suspects who allegedly attacked a group of hikers on Table Mountain on Thursday morning.

The group of three hikers were walking in the northern section of the park when they were allegedly attacked by four men. They were reportedly tied up during the attack.

SANParks spokesperson Janine Raftopoulos said rangers, working with police, arrested all four suspects.

The victims opened a case at Cape Town Central police station where they identified the suspects who were wearing some of the clothes they had stolen.

Raftopoulos said she could confirm that two of the hikers were men, but was unsure about the third hiker. She said further details would be made available as soon as possible.
