Cape Town - The man who murdered and mutilated Cape Town teenager Lekita Moore was handed four life sentences in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday.

He was sentenced to an additional 71 years, which will run concurrently.

Cameron Wilson, 20, applauded in court when he heard his sentence.

Wilson abducted Lekita after they both attended a karaoke event in Valhalla Park on September 10 last year.

The teen’s naked and mutilated body was found on a field the next morning.

Her face was slashed, she had been stabbed 98 times and her nipples and part of her vagina had been cut away.

Wilson was last month handed down a guilty verdict on 13 charges by the Western Cape High Court.

He faced 15 charges including five counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault and rape, one count of the possession of an illegal firearm and one count of the possession of illegal ammunition.

Wilson was arrested in September 2016 in connection with the murder of Moore in Valhalla Park while he was out on bail for the murder of Stacey Lee Mohale in April 2015.

It is alleged that Wilson had attacked Stacey Lee, 16, and her friend Abigail Plaatjies in Heinz Park near the R300 in April 2015.

Abigail was viciously assaulted, while Stacey Lee was raped, stoned and set alight, allegedly by Wilson and his accomplice, a minor.
