Cape Town - Doing the cowboy shuffle in a saloon on a Thursday night. That’s what you get for saying yes to Heineken’s invitation to #BeBrave and join their #OpenYourCity tour.

The saloon called Dust and Dynamite was only one of the stops on our mystery tour in Cape Town’s CBD. But what a find! The cosy bar in Caledon Street is packed to the rafters with Western paraphernalia and the cowboy experience is finished off with two surly, and armed, barmen.

Each venue was top secret until we arrived at our destination, with the first stop for the convoy of Heineken branded cars being Arcade on Bree Street. Here the group of media, celebs and competition winners socialised, danced in their seats and enjoyed fabulous pizzas, burgers with lots and lots of trimmings and of course Heineken.

Next was Dust and Dynamite, where the selfies now included cowboy hats and silly dancing.

We ended this fun-filled evening at Orphanage Cocktail Emporium in Bree Street where were welcomed with tequila shots.

Considered to be one of Cape Town most popular hangouts, the venue, crowd and DJ once again delivered.

“The cities campaign is a campaign we have run for many years in South Africa. We believe our cities are some of the best in the world and they need be recognised as such. The whole concept about being brave around the city is all about encouraging the Heineken fans out there to be brave and try something different in their city. And by exploring their city and doing something different, we are invigorating the city and finding out the gems they have and putting it out in the world.”

Ratsibe says they chat to the locals and find out from them what the hot spots are to have a good time with friends.
