A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to bribe a testing officer with R300 after failing his learner’s licence test.

The City of Cape Town said in a statement that traffic officers arrested the man at the Gallows Hill testing centre in Green Point on Saturday morning.

City traffic officials said the man was among a group who had written the learner’s licence test on Saturday morning.

The city said the last applicant was told he had failed.

At this point, the city said, the applicant allegedly placed three R100 notes on the table in front of the testing officer and urged the testing officer to “change the result to a pass”. – Staff Reporter
