Cape Town - A man was seriously injured after his hand got caught in a roller press machine at a company in Epping Industria, Cape Town, paramedics said on Monday.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the man, who is believed to be in his 20s, was injured on Sunday night.
"ER24 paramedics, along with Metro, Fire services and Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene at 11:10pm and were lead to the patient," Meiring said.
Upon arrival, paramedics found that the man's hand was caught in a roller press machine.
"Rescue services were unable to dismantle the machine and later had to use specialised rescue tools to free the man’s arm from the machine," Meiring said.
Paramedics found that he had sustained countless crush injuries.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment after being provided with pain-relief medication for his injuries.
