Three fishermen who went missing off the coast of Elands Bay, north of Cape Town, were found on Friday, the National Sea Rescue Institute said.
“The men were found at Doringsbaai at around 5pm after they went missing on Thursday,” said spokesman Craig Lambinon. They had been taken to hospital.
He said they left Elands Bay around 6pm on Thursday to go fishing, but experienced engine failure and drifted out to sea.
Lambinon said the NSRI had cellphone contact with the fishermen, but could not find them because it did not know where they had drifted.
An extended search including the police and the SA Air Force was launched on Thursday. - Sapa
