Paraglider falls to his death in Llandudno

Cape Town - A male paraglider fell to his death in Llandudno in the Western Cape on Tuesday afternoon, paramedics and police have confirmed.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known, but police said that an inquest docket was opened for investigation.

Police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk said the middle-aged male was paragliding from Leeukoppie, Llandudno when he had an accident and succumbed due to injuries sustained. 

According to ER24, when paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 2pm on Tuesday they found the man lying on the front stoep of a house. 

Generic Paramedics, the Llandudno Lifeguards and the SAPS was already on the scene. 

"The man was found to be in a critical condition, and his vital signs deteriorated rapidly. Despite the paramedics' efforts, they were unable to revive him, and he was later declared dead on the scene," ER24 said in a statement.
