Cape Town - With just three weeks to go to the nail-biting grand finale of Idols SA fans are voting on speed dial, with a record-breaking 12 million votes received last week.
And our Bishop Lavis girl is in the Top 4. Paxton Fielies, 17, is winning hearts every week with her good performances.

Sadly it was farewell to Faith this week leaving Paxton, Botlhale, Phindy and Mthokozisi in the running in Top 4.

Sunday night’s theme was “The Year I Was Born” and “Contemporary Hits”. Botlhale, born in 1996, was first up, reminding fans of his instrument-playing prowess when he performed Joan Osborne’s One Of Us.

Phindy chose Ringo’s 1997 love anthem, Sondela.

Mthokozisi, who was born in 1991, chose It’s Hard To Say Goodbye by Boyz II Men.

Paxton wowed people with Christina Aguilera’s 2000 hit I Turn To You.

While he couldn’t fault the performance, Randall preferred a more contemporary song, but Unathi and Somizi were poetic in their praise. The teen made Randall happy when she chose the Black Coffee mix of In Common by Alicia Keys.

Somizi gave her a “Whooo shem!” and Unathi bet that Black Coffee will be calling on Paxton the next time he needs a singer for the song on stage.

An excited Paxton told the Daily Voice on Sunday: “The judges’ comments took me by surprise.”

Asked if she has a berk cheering on from the sides, the bubbly teen says she’s focusing on her singing.

“There’s no bae, there’s no time for a bae. I’m very focused on my career right now .”

Thanking her fans “for putting me in the top” Paxton reminded viewers that the voting lines close at 10pm on Tuesday night, “so please vote”. Text her number 08 to 37400 or vote on idolssa.tv.

Idols SA season 13 is on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161 on Sundays at 5pm.
