Cape Town - Cape Town traffic authorities on Sunday arrested two men who were caught speeding at 185km/h on the N2 highway outside of the city.

Cape Town traffic department spokesman Maxine Jordaan said the men, both from Noordhoek, have been arrested and will face charges of reckless and negligent driving.

The men were caught driving on the N2 outbound at Macassar where the speed limit if 120km/h.

The incident occurred at 8.43am.

“Both male drivers each had a female passenger in the motor vehicle at the time of the arrest,” Jordaan said.

The men are due to appear in the Somerset West magistrate’s court on Tuesday morning.
