Cape Town - A military aircraft crashed in Langebaan on Wednesday night injuring two South African Air Force members on board.

South African Defence Force spokesman Xolani Mabandla confirmed the crash.

“I can confirm that the crash did happen and two people got injured but no deaths have been reported,” he said.

Mabandla said they were still trying to assess what happened. Life Health Care’s Christine Malan confirmed that people who had been involved in the plane crash were admitted.

It is believed that the two people involved the crash are a lieutenant-colonel and a captain of 41 Squadron of the Waterkloof Air Force base.

They were flying a Cessna Caravan during a night training operation in Langebaan.
