Cape Town - Two men have been arrested in connection with a murder at the weekend in Worcester, Western Cape, police said on Tuesday.

One of the two suspects who are between the ages of 20 and 22-years-old was arrested on Saturday the day the murder occurred around 23:45 in River View in Worcester, while the second suspect was arrested on Monday.

South African Police Service (SAPS) Western Cape spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said: "The deceased was found with a gunshot wound to his body. Police followed up on leads and arrested the first suspect shortly after the incident was reported."

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape Lieutenant General KE Jula commended SAPS members for their swift response.

Both suspects will be appearing in the Worcester Magistrates’ Court.
