CAPE TOWN - A woman died on Monday after being struck by a train at the Oosterzee station in Parow, outside Cape Town, the ER24 paramedic service said.
Paramedics found the woman, believed to be in her 30s, lying on the tracks after being called to the scene during the afternoon peak.
"Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead."
Police were on the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
