WATCH: No Wits shutdown for #NationalDayOfAction, says Habib

Johannesburg – Wits University Vice-Chancellor Professor Adam Habib has weighed in on the National Day of Action that will take place on Wednesday.

Habib said although the university supported the rights of its staff and students to the march, the university would not close its doors calling for President Jacob Zuma to resign.

The day of action is the brainchild of various opposition parties including; EFF, UDM, ACDP and the DA.The marches are going to take place in Pretoria

The political parties said they expected their members to support the march which will end at the Zuma’s door steps at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

Habib said that he personally has issues with the corruption in the country and has concerns at how it will affect various social institutions like universities. ​
